JEFFREY D ARTHURS

Do you sometimes catch folks nodding off during your Sunday message? Arthurs points to the creative imagination of the Master Communicator as a solution. He recommends shaping your sermon based on one of the six styles used by the writers of Scripture itself—psalms, narrative, parables, proverbs, epistles, and apocalyptic literature. Chapters feature practical “try this” suggestions and a quick checklist for each genre.

Jeffrey D. Arthurs(Ph.D. Purdue Univ.) teaches preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
