The 1830 Apparition

On November 27, 1830, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Labour, a young Daughter of Charity novice in Paris, France. During this apparition, Our Lady stood upon a globe with rays of light streaming from her hands. She instructed Catherine to have a medal struck with this image, promising: “All who wear it will receive great graces; they should wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for persons who wear it with confidence.”
