Hungarian Bible Revised Version (1908) / Szent Biblia Kroli GsprBibliatrsasg 1963 / Hungarian Bible Society / HUNK Classic Hungarian Bible translationHardcover Printed in 1963PAGES: 1098Publisher: Hungarian Bible SocietyLANGUAGE: Hungarian / MagyarEnglish Description:Hungarian Kroli Protestant Bible The Vizsoly Bible, also called Kroli Bible was the first Bible printed in the Hungarian language. It was translated in the 16th century by pastor Gspr Kroli and fellow Calvinists and was printed in 1590 by Blint Mantskovit. A copy is kept on permanent display in the Hungarian village of Vizsoly. The Krolyi Bible (in Protestant practice: the Kroli Bible) or Vizsoli Bible is the oldest extant (and still in use) complete Bible translated into Hungarian. The translation was done by Gspr Krolyi and his fellow pastors, and the printer Blint Mantskovits assisted in the printing of the book. In January 2015, the Vizsoli Bible was included among the Hungarian books. The complete Hungarian translation and printing of the Bible was already planned by Pter Bornemisza when Mantskovits was still working for him, as evidenced by the postscript of his letter dated February 18, 1580. The Holy Scriptures were translated by Gspr Krolyi, a Reformed bishop and pastor in Gnc, and he started the work in 1586. After three years, the complete translation was completed. Krolyi could not translate the entire Bible by himself in three years; an examination of the language of the translation suggests that he had at least three helpers. The New Testament appears to be linguistically uniform, which makes it likely that this section was translated entirely by Krolyi. Printing began on February 18, 1589 under the leadership of Blint Mantskovits of Polish origin, who brought the letters from the Low Countries for the great task, and the paper was obtained from Poland. Mantskovits moved his printing house from Galgc to Vizsoly. When printing began, the complete translation had not yet been completed, so the students of the time, including Albert Szenczi Molnr, carried Krolyi’s manuscripts page by page from Gnc to Vizsoly on foot.Hungarian Description:A Krolyi-Biblia (protestns gyakorlatban: Kroli-Biblia) avagy vizsolyi Biblia a legrgibb fennmaradt (s ma is hasznlt) teljes, magyar nyelvre lefordtott Biblia.
