According to long-held Catholic tradition, angelstransported the Holy House from the Holy Land in 1291, carrying it through several locations beforeit came to rest in Loreto, Italy, where it remains today.

This miraculous journey through the air led to Our Ladys patronage of aviators and air travelers, while the preservation of the Holy House over centuries also connects her to builders andconstruction workers.
