St. Margaret Mary Alacoque is the patron saint against polio and the loss of parents. At the age of nine, Margaret fell ill and was confined to her bed for four years. Towards the end of her illness she vowed herself to the Blessed Virgin, and her health was restored. She had a vision of the Christ where he allowed her to rest her head upon his heart.
